Birdcages and Dragonflies are unique wedding planners ,we love the unique whether it be vintage, retro, industrial or antique, big or small…

We offer a table and chair hire services , we have an ever growing collection of wonderful mismatched wedding prop hire which includes folding chairs, reclaimed tables, furniture and decorative items ready for hire to help you decorate your wedding day, birthday shindig or celebration event.

We are based in Northumberland, although also deliver in Cumbria, North Yorkshire and the Scottish border.

ABOUT US

Birdcages and Dragonflies was set up by me, Jane Flatman and my  husband Andrew after being unable to source items for our own wedding on the family farm.

We are based in Northumberland and have turned our love of the unique passion for auctions into what is Birdcages and Dragonflies.

As well as sourcing unique vintage, retro and industrial pieces we also offer a bespoke wedding build service putting Andrews Joinery skills and my Textiles and Art background to the test.

We have embraced the very large learning curve we have travelled on since we began in 2015, and have loved meeting so many wonderful couples and suppliers and finding out just how many amazing places the North East has to offer to couples for their special day.

Birdcages and Dragonflies have the most incredible selection of high quality, quirky and fun props for weddings. We wanted to make the most of all of the space in our venue, and Jane had everything we could ever want or need for a very reasonable price. The service that Jane provided was exceptional – she is fast at responding to emails, is happy to give precise measurements, and was even so kind as to arrange to drop off part of the amazing milk churns early, so that our florist could prepare the arrangements before the day! Jane at Birdcages and Dragonflies is THE person you want on board for your wedding! We hired a ‘blank canvas’ space for our wedding at Hexham Winter Gardens and Jane helped us fill it up with beautiful, quirky and fun things to make it the most special place to spend our wedding day. She was on hand with brilliant ideas and pictures, she had fantastic knowledge of what would look good in our venue and sent us prices and measurements at the drop of a hat.

Jane and her lovely husband arrived early on the morning before our wedding so we could have as long as possible to get everything done, they also helped us put up the beautiful light fittings that so many guests commented on.

We honestly can’t recommend Birdcages and Dragonflies enough they had such a huge part in making our day exactly what we wanted. Thankyou for everything, Gemma and Jonny x
